Sometimes my work evolves as an obvious series, one piece leading to, contributing to the next. Sometimes the series is only made obvious by stepping back and seeing pieces side by side. This gallery is divided up into those series.
The newest series is Maclura, inspired by the Osage Orange tree. Also recent is a series inspired by the stratification of rocks. Just added to the website is Recharged, pieces that begin with the chemical discharge of color from the fabric.
Dance of the Blue Slash is a series inspired by a hand dyed piece of turquoise silk. Photo Fiber is a series that starts with digital photos manipulated and printed onto fabric, and then made into collage pieces.
Life Around Us includes pieces inspired directly by nature, executed with various techniques. The series Tuckered begins with fabrics that are textured by sewing tucks into them.
Biography of a Buckeye consists of pieces made each month of the year 2006, reflections on a red buckeye tree in the artist's backyard.
Another new gallery is Inspired By photos, part of an RRFA challenge.
